Seminar Prep Sheet #3

Here we are again at the start of another week. This past week what I accomplished was less than I would have hoped. I had goals to find more articles. attempt to find books. Meet with both Amanda and Heather.  Finish a book etc etc etc. The most that I did accomplish last week was finally posting my proposal on my blog so that my stepmother could read it and meet with Amanda. I was too and stressed to find time to print more articles or meet with Heather. I stubbornly thought that I was fine not meeting with her yet... This unfortunately resulted in me not pulling anything extra...

The sources that I did consult this week were Amanda. I sat down with her to explain my project and goals for this semester. She asked me some questions and gave me some provocations. I was hoping her to be a better tool for my research but she knew much less than I expected and had very little information or resources for me. Thinking about it now, because I went into the meeting with little organized and an open mind i was hoping to only explain my project and then she discover it as a jumping off point to then pour me information. The meeting was more of me explaining what this disease is and how it affects me. The only resource that she gave me was a book The Allergy Diet. This book is a reference guide for people who are trying to on their own discover foods that they are allergic to. Not necessarily about how to cope or deal with. it explains to you how you break your diet down into very few things and slowly add other things back in to find out what you are allergic to. I am not sure how helpful this will be to me. Maybe I can use it on information on how to get tested...? if you dont want to get your blood tested you can put yourself through this 5 week diet to find out what foods you might be allergic to. I am going to have to look closely through it and see if there is anything applicable. Time is precious, especially now that rehearsals have begun.

By next week I HAVE TO have more articles printed.
I HAVE TO post my notes to my blog. I must get into a habit if keeping this blog active. I fear this will truly become an honest issue...
I have to meet with Heather.
I have to get my stepmother to send me information

I cannot let laziness get in my way. I must be studious. I must not waste time.

To move forward I must be active active active. bring myself to do the work.

I dont know entirely yet what to discuss in seminar this week...

  1. Lucienne,
Rather than simply telling yourself to "be active," try identifying a few tangible tasks that you can accomplish. This will help you develop a sense of momentum and will move you forward toward your goal.
